Many times our society thinks of resilience as something that just happens to a person, but resilience is a skill. It can be taught and teachers can help students build this skill. Building resilience is a journey that takes practice. Trauma isn’t a prerequisite for resilience or building resilience.

This workshop focuses on how self-awareness and self-management skills can help students develop resilience by focusing on self-worth and finding purpose in one’s life. Teachers learn SEL strategies and tools to support students development of resilience through these ideas and competencies.

Yes! This workshop provides you with a certificate for 2 professional development hours (the SEL Foundations bundle provides you with 10 hours). Hours may be used for teacher re-licensure. Please check with your specific state/providence/country to see if your hours can be used for re-licensure.
What do I have to DO for this workshop?
This workshop will lead you through a series of interactive, online tools to keep you engaged and learning. The last lesson of the workshop will give you time to reflect and create based on what you have just learned. You may turn in your work to an administrator (if required), share with other workshop participants, or keep this work to yourself.
